MR. SAM PLUMMER
Sacred Heart is where I’ve called home for the last eight. I could not be more excited to serve in the role of Principal for the 22/23 school year. Previously, I taught Social Studies and Religion in Middle School and served as the Assistant Principal for the past 2 years. Even though I am serving the Sacred Heart School Family in a new role, I will always be a teacher at heart! My goal as a teacher was to share the love of learning with my students each and everyday and to inspire them to go out and make a positive contribution to our community! As a Principal, I hope to inspire teachers, students, and families to do the same. My educational background includes a B.A. in History (with a double minor in both Secondary Education and Social Sciences) and a M.A. in School Administration, both from Lindenwood University. It is my goal to continue my own education and earn my Educational Doctorate. I hope that my own educational journey as a lifelong learner serves as an example to our students and teachers as well.
I have been married to my beautiful wife, Heather, for four years. We have one son, James (2), a dog, Dakota, and one more little one on the way due in November. Through my vocation as a father and husband, I want to lead them to Heaven and do everything possible to help them succeed in life. Sometimes that will mean letting them fail so that they can learn. I have the same expectations for my little ones as I do for the students here at Sacred Heart and I will love all of them like they were my own! It is an absolute privilege for me to have the opportunity to lead here at Sacred Heart. I am not sure that I have a favorite Saint, (they are all so wonderful and exhibit such beautiful qualities) but I do have a favorite Saint quote by St. Catherine of Siena: “Be who you were meant to be, and you will set the world on fire!” If we stay true to our authentic selves that God created us to be, we will set the world ablaze with His love! |
