My name is Scott Mullins, and I will be teaching middle school social studies as well as the sixth grade homeroom. I am a retired public school teacher. I taught six years at TBHS and was a teacher and administrator at Bowling Green High School for twenty-two years. This is my first year at Sacred Heart, and I am excited to be back in the classroom. I am very passionate about history, government, and geography. I think a healthy knowledge of the social sciences are important for perspective about who we are and how we can make responsible decisions. I believe in the Holy Spirit, and the work it does through teachers and students is vital in making our classrooms, communities, and the world a better place. This fits into this year’s school theme of “Fire.” My favorite quote from a saint is “Faith has to do with things that are not seen, and hope with things that are not in hand.”― Thomas AquinasFor a hobby, I like to do minor home repairs and remodeling for my wife. I enjoyed coaching while I taught and still enjoy watching my son, Fletcher, play football and throw the shot in track. My daughter, Cora, likes arts and crafts, and I like watching her be creative. My whole family loves to camp, and we try to take a big trip each summer. I appreciate the gift of teaching your children. Let’s have a great year together.
